Erick Salonga made a remark while making a right turn to the Jesuit Residence, “It will be an exciting year for the Ateneo High School.” Indeed it will be. Great change will impact the high school now.
In this photo, another lane is being added to the high school road. To ease traffic in the morning, two lanes will be used for cars entering the high school and only one lane to exit. In the afternoon, however, it will be the other way around.
This road is only one of the many things being built within the high school grounds. Another road will lead to the former Cupertino school to provide an entry point for trucks constructing the Senior High School building for our K-12. The SHS will be built on the field beside the Moro Lorenzo Sports Complex.
The K-12 program is already in full swing. Despite protests from different sectors to stop K-12, there is no turning back for us. We are like the Israelites in the middle of their journey to the Promised Land: they already left Egypt but their destination was not yet in the horizon.
Calvin Coolidge, the 30th President of the United States said, “The slogan, press on, has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.”
In this difficult road to the K-12 curriculum, we must press on. It is timely, therefore, to pray for persistence and determination.
